The packaging of Spilva dressings which has been designed in cooperation with the flexible packaging manufacturer IMMER Group and design office DPJN received the highest evaluation in the food category of the largest professional packaging competition in the world WorldStar for Packaging.

“The high evaluation is honour and recognition for our performed work in cooperation with IMMER Group and DPJN. There are no inessential matters in packaging design, on the contrary – each detail and nuance is important. When designing the pachaging of Spilva dressings – stand-up pouches –, both, attractive design, and convenience and handiness of use were taken into account, as well as reasonable product and packaging consumption. Maximum lightness of the product together with the packaging has been considered, as well as its size taking up the place as less as possible, and  stand-up pouches allow to place a product completely. On the other hand, in order to provide freshness of the product, multi-layer packaging material and screw cap have been designed protecting from light and air access. We have taken all these nuances into account which may seem unnoticeable in the beginning, therefore we are proud of the work performed together and its evaluation,” says Head of the company Orkla Foods Latvia Lolita Bemhena.

The largest professional packaging competition in the world WorldStar has been organised since 1970 and its win is evaluated as a considerable achievement in the field. Competition increases on an annual basis – this year 318 works from 38 countries participated in the competition. The winners are determined by a professional jury – experts from the Board of the World Packaging Organisation, national and regional packaging organisations.
